Alves' return to Barcelona
Barcelona announced the return of Brazilian star Dani Alves to the team to participate under the leadership of his colleague and new coach of Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez.
Alves moved to Barcelona on a free transfer after the end of his contract with the Sao Paulo team last September, and he will participate with the team at the beginning of January.
Barcelona said on its official website: "Barcelona and Dani Alves have reached an agreement in principle for the player to join the first team until the end of the current season. The Brazilian will join the exercises starting next week, but he will not play until January."
Barcelona is trying to get back on the right track after the difficult start in the league, in which it reached ninth place, trailing Real Madrid by 10 points.
